Plants For Pots / can be grown in small pots for people who don’t have room outside or want to grow plants indoors with grow lights or in a sunny window. 

 

Garden Bag Plants / garden bags are excellent for plants that need special care, spread invasive or for beginners. You can grow almost any plant in different sized cloth bags. 

 

 

Invasives:   (these spread)  blackberry, raspberry, nettle, St. John’s wort, yarrow, dandelion, violet, cleavers, chickweed 

 

Outdoor Garden / these plants make up a useful dog-centered outdoor herb garden. This takes a 15 ft by 9 foot space for the full garden or you can use any set of these combinations. 

Back Row: Mullein 40 inches wide / Meadowsweet 18 inches wide / Elecampane 36 inches wide / Rosemary 36 inches wide / Mallow 24 inches wide / Milk Thistle 12 inches wide / Marshmallow 24 inches wide 

Third Row: Yarrow 36 inches wide / Lavender 36 inches wide / Skullcap 12 inches wide New England Aster 36 inches wide / St. John’s Wort 24 inches wide / Echinacea 24 inches wide / Optional : chickweed 18” wide and Cleavers 24 inches wide. These will need a bit of shade.

Aloe (Aloe barbadensis) grow inside / WDS / use gel inside for cuts, scraped and dryness’ 

Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) / grow in a growing bag due to spreading / WDS / FS / PS / excellent for diarrhea, gastrointestinal inflammation, bladder infections and cleaning wounds 

Burdock (Arctium lappa) / biennial / grow in earth or wide garden bag for easy root collection / moist soil / FS / PS / helps your dog process fats and oils / supports liver health / stimulates bile 

Calendula (Calendula officinalis) / FS / PS / WDS / used dried for infusions for yeast / wounds without infection / antibiotic damage / gastrointestinal upset 

California poppy (Eschscholzia California) / FS / WDS / stress / anxiety / nervous system / flower / sedation 

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) / FS / can use fresh or dry / use the flowers as a tea and for calming / stomach spasm / upset stomach 

Chickweed (Stellaria media) / PS / moist soil / use flowers and leaves / fresh or dried / good for lipomas as an infusion / dryness / cooling 

Cleavers (Gallium acarine) / PS / moist soil / use leaves and flower / use fresh / great for lymphatic system / helps the kidneys / diuretic / can be used externally for itching as a cold- water infusion. 

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinal) / FS / helps with digestion / liver function / root is for the liver and stomach and leaf has affinity towards the kidney.
